Why This Resource Exists
Minnesota law makes many government records available to the public, but those records remain split among several offices and systems. The Lac qui Parle County Sheriff’s Office maintains the local booking and release data. Its online list shows people who are currently in custody, not a historical release list. The Minnesota Department of Corrections Locator covers people under state DOC jurisdiction, including some who have left prison but remain under supervision. The Lac qui Parle County District Court documents the legal case, while 6W Community Corrections handles applicable local supervision.
This site organizes those official paths, explains what each source can and cannot establish, and identifies federal resources when a case falls outside county or state custody. It does not replace the record held by the office that created it.
